Commemorative Brick Patio

Colonial St. Augustine Foundation is pleased to announce that it has begun, with the permission of the City of St. Augustine, a commemorative brick fundraiser.  The Foundation will use the profits from the sale of the bricks to restore monuments in the City Plaza and Anderson Circle.  The pavers, engraved with personalized inscriptions, will be located in a new brick patio built between the recently renovated Visitor Information Center and the Huguenot Cemetery. The patio, beautifully designed and constructed by Fisher Concrete, surrounds the Zero Milestone of the Old Spanish Trail, which was completed in 1928. The patio, overlooking the Castillo de San Marcos, will provide its visitors with a serene setting for quiet meditation and remembrance.  You may visit the patio, built initially with blank pavers, now if you wish.

The inscribed pavers offer purchasers a wonderful opportunity to commemorate or honor loved ones, celebrate special events, demonstrate community support, give a gift that will last for generations, and help preserve St. Augustine’s colonial treasures. The pavers come in two sizes--the Aviles, which is 4" x 8", and the Cordova, which is 8"x 8". The smaller brick allows the purchaser up to three lines of inscription, with 15 characters per line.  The larger brick allows the purchaser up to 6 lines of inscription, with 15 characters per line.

The inscribed pavers will replace the blanks currently in the patio, and should be placed in the ground no later than 6 months after they are ordered.   Individual orders are collected into batches of at least 50 bricks and then ordered as a lot.  The length of time from when a lot order is place to when the bricks are put in the patio is approximately 2 months.
